A75 Introduction to Jewelry: The Basics
Level A – All levels welcome.
We will introduce you to basic jewelry tools and torches to explore common techniques in jewelry fabrication. You will learn the basics of bezel forming and setting with brass and copper, as well as looking at the potential design benefits of adding and combining stones in your work. We will also learn standard, flush, and raised-head rivets, and how to utilize them as cold-connections in designing your jewelry. You will make multiple pieces for exercises, and at least one final cumulative piece. There will be a break for lunch at noon. There is a material fee of $70 due to the instructor on the first day of class.
