I started working in ceramics during high school in 1965 studying with David Suits, Clayton Bailey, and Tom Lawless. College study was with Sue Eisler, Peter Voulkus, Jack Canon, Dan Anderson, Tasheko Takazu, Wayne Higby, and Ken Ferguson completing a Masters in Fine Art in Ceramics and Sculpture. Post-graduation study continued with Paul Soldner and Tony Heslop. I taught secondary education in Saint Louis, Missouri, and Colorado Springs, Colorado. Later, I taught at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center at Colorado College.
Over the years, I have received numerous awards, participated in many shows, and have work displayed in collections across the United States, Canada, France, and Spain. My work is displayed in southwestern galleries including the Colorado Springs Fine Art Center as well as larger-scale public art seen in communities across Colorado, Texas and Wyoming, California, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, South Dakota, Kansas, and New Mexico I continue today, producing both high fire salt & steel sculptures.
