Laura Porakova

Instructor

Laura Porakova has practiced The Visual Arts for 45 years. 26 of those years she taught Art at Cheyenne Mountain High School. She is well versed in numerous mediums across several techniques including but not limited to, drawing, painting, sculpture, and printmaking. Laura enjoys working in pastels, pencils, watercolors, oils, acrylics, wood carvings, rock carvings, etching, relief printmaking, and solar plates. Laura has a BFA from CUBoulder and a MAT from CC.

Laura completely enjoyed working with 9-12 graders turning them on to art and or honing and exploring their creative talents. Porakova taught all the previous mentioned techniques and Advanced Placement Art History.

Laura continues to enjoy making and teaching Art. She looks forward to instructing Bemis students and instilling her craft and love for the Arts into each of them.
