SMF1 Green Eggs and Ham

Students will create illustrations for the presentation of Green Eggs and Ham for the Colorado College Summer Music Festival. Drawing skills are required and a love of making art. We will focus on creating the whimsical characters created by Dr. Suess in his entertaining story. Sam-I-Am persistently tries to get an unnamed character to try green eggs and ham at different locations and with different dining companions. Finally, near the end, the character agrees to Sam-I-Am’s promptings and pleasantly discovers the dish is pretty tasty. While the orchestra performs a musical composition, a narrator reads Green Eggs and Ham, the students’ illustrations are shown on a screen for the audience to view. This is a unique opportunity for young creatives and their families to enjoy. Supplies will be provided.
