RT1 Partners in Art: Plowshare Vessels
RAWTools is comprehensive in its efforts to move communities away from violence. It is not enough to just make tools from guns. As a society, we need to help teach each other new ways to solve our problems through relationships, dialogue, and alternative means of justice. By using weapons to make garden tools and other hand tools, RAWTools is creating a symbol for change and they are asking you to participate, to dare to use your imagination to change your impulse.
Join us on a journey from destroyed firearm parts to new artistic pieces in this Partners in Art class. Through a combination of clay sculpture and the wood/metal/fabric parts of non-working rifles, pistols, guns, and accessories, you will create non-violent sculptural containers. Supplies will be provided.
