A96 Art of Traditional Darkroom
Level II – This class is for those who have taken at least one class in the medium. Students should be comfortable with the basics of how to use and manipulate the medium.
Take your black and white darkroom skills to the next level with instruction in film processing, printing with contrast filters, split-filter printing, and cropping/positioning your compositions for artful presentations. We will explore additional techniques that will advance your printmaking efforts and help you to craft fine art prints with a deep dive into honing your burning and dodging skills. You will be encouraged to expand your individual creative vision through added camera skills, and composition instruction. By the end of our eight weeks together, each student will have made a portfolio of beautiful prints that will inspire them to consider entering their work into local exhibitions and photography contests.
