A85 Ceramics: Plot Twists

This workshop is co-presented in partnership with the Gallery of Contemporary Art (GOCA) at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. See Yana’s work: Pleasure & Protest January 25 – March 16, 2024 — GOCA Digital and lecture: Yana Payusova VACS Lecture.

This three-hour workshop will investigate the relationship between two-dimensional and three-dimensional surfaces, while focusing on the expressive narrative potential of physical objects. During the workshop the participants will create compositional drawings, then hand-build a small ceramic object, which they will paint and glaze. The instructor will demo some hand-building techniques, discuss the conceptual brainstorming approaches, as well as demo working with underglazes and glazes. Supplies will be provided.
