A100 Exhibition Viewing & Creative Response: Gathering Place

Level A – All levels welcome.

Join us to explore the new permanent collection exhibition at the FAC, “Gathering Place,” via gallery visits and responses in writing and mixed media. We’ll visit the exhibition at the beginning of each class, each time focusing on a particular way of viewing (cultural/historical contexts, materials/media, art elements, etc.), each person selecting one or more pieces of personal interest, then return to the classroom and create responses to your chosen works. You will use your own preferred medium/materials and/or writing and/or collage/mixed media (some materials will be available). You’ll leave with a greater understanding of this exhibition from the FAC’s permanent collection, and with your own tangible compilation of ways of looking at and responding to art.
