A85 MagMagic Melts: From Pages to Paper Art
Level A – All levels welcome.
Discover the magical mess of CitraSolv as we use a citrus-based solvent to dissolve and manipulate ink on National Geographic pages, revealing unpredictable, abstract, and textured art papers. You’ll learn safe, playful techniques, spraying, brushing, and dabbing, to soften and bleed images, then peel pages apart to unveil one-of-a-kind papers perfect for collage and mixed media. After creating a stack of “melty” papers, we’ll explore creative ways to use them: cut, weave, paint, stencil, and use as digital photo backdrops. Leave with a collection of unique papers, ready-to-use project ideas, and confidence to experiment further at home. Please bring a face mask to protect from possible fumes. There is a material fee of $35 due to the instructor on the first day of class.
