C4 Craft Lab: Kawandi Quilting
Join us the second Saturday morning of each month for a welcoming, hands-on workshop designed to spark creativity and connect community. The Craft Lab series offers a rotating lineup of engaging, beginner-friendly classes where you’ll learn a new craft in just a couple hours—no prior experience needed. These crafty mornings are all about slowing down, making something meaningful, fueling your creativity, and meeting new people.
Level 0 – This class is for the true beginner with no prior experience in the medium.
Recycled fabrics stitched with simple quilting techniques to make one-of-a-kind table centerpiece. Inspired by the traditional Kawandi style, the piece is built layer by layer, allowing colors, textures, and patterns from repurposed textiles to emerge organically. Each stitch adds character and history, turning discarded fabric into a functional work of art that celebrates sustainability and craftsmanship. There is a material fee of $10 due to the instructor on the first day of class.
Please note: By signing up for this class, you are agreeing to the Fine Art Center Bemis School of Art’s General Policies and Participant Assumption of Risk and Release, including assumption of risk, release of liability, medical authorization, rules and supervision, and photo and media consent.
