Bemis School of Art

Vlada Benedetti

Instructor

I am a multi-media artist born and raised in Colorado. My first experience having art in a show was at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts at the age of 5, and I attended classes at Bemis from the age of 6 to 17. After graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design and living/working on the east coast for 17 years, I decided to move back to Colorado, using the Rocky Mountains as further research and inspiration for an ongoing project called SAFARINON. I am interested in world-building mythologies, and exploring the creative experiences of other beings on this planet, through my work.

I have lived in Paris, Vienna, and Reykjavik as a working artist, and have shown work both as a solo artist and in group shows at NADA, Art Basil, Center-Berlin, The Sound Museum, The Power Plant, Art in General, iCi, Drop Dead Festival, World Dominance International Film Festival, The Walters Art Museum, The New Museum, RedLine, featured on Rhizome.org, and co-founded/co-curated an experimental and performance art gallery called MEME in Cambridge MA, winning Best Gallery of Boston in 2010. As a working artist in the design world, I was a character artist for 5 years on the MTV/Viacom video game franchise ROCKBAND, and worked as an educator for the Art & Nature Center at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, MA.
