Melanie Audet

Instructor

Melanie Audet is originally from the Detroit area of Michigan. She received a BA in visual art from Albion College and a BFA in textiles minoring in photography and drawing from the Oregon College of Art and Craft. She learned the art of synthetic dyeing, weaving, felting, and surface design and uses these processes in a mixed media fashion to create functional and non-functional art. She has continued her education by learning the art of natural dyes with professional instructors such as Donna Brown, Catharine Ellis, Yoshiko Wada, and Michel Garcia. She is the owner and proprietor of Melanie Audet Limited Editions and Twig and Berry Dyes as well as organizing Blue Hands community events. Her love for textiles is more of a compulsion and she loves to share this passion with others.
