Bemis School of Art

Mary Madison

Instructor

Mary believes all people need to express their creativity, even when they are unsure what talent they may have.  She finds ways to help them connect with their expressive energy. She has taught fiber arts since 2017, when she started a weaving group for veterans suffering from PTSD. She continues to teach newcomers to fiber arts at the Manitou Arts Center.  Mary teaches classes in tapestry, punch needle, frame loom weaving, 4 shaft floor loom weaving and time permitting, quilting.

Mary has a positive and patient approach to teaching, encouraging students to first learn the basics of various fiber art techniques, then begin your own exploration and creative impulses.  Her overriding belief is that there is no one way to do anything artistic, there’s simply your way.
