Barbara Dimond

Barbara is a mixed media artist originally from New York, She is trained in handmade paper making and currently, her subject of choice is hand-cast paper mache sculptural bustiers, handbags, and shoes. She is an out-of-the-box collagist working with unique materials and processes.

Barbara has been teaching children and adults at the Bemis School of Art, and other various public and private schools around El Paso County and in Santa Fe, N.M. for 30 years. Barbara was an Artist in Residence at the Pikes Peak Library District and several public schools. Barbara incorporates many of the ideas from her major exhibitions from New York to her students here in Colorado, and offers her students unusual and unfamiliar materials from her travelers for course projects.
