Parking

Parking for students taking classes at Bemis School of Art is available in the main Fine Arts Center parking lot located at 30 West Dale Street.

The main Fine Arts Center parking lot is metered at the price of $1 per hour, plus a 45 cent processing fee (unless you have a staff permit specific to lot W-7 or W-8). A sign with instructions on how to pay is located near the parking lot entrance. You may pay for parking via the ParkMobile app or over the phone.

To access the studio classrooms, enter the FAC through the main door to the far right (at the top of the ramp) and follow the signs for Bemis School of Art.

Other Parking Options

Street parking is available at the base of the hill past the main FAC lot and around Monument Valley Park and Mesa Road. Please be aware that parking along Cache La Poudre Street requires a city permit Monday through Friday from 7 a.m.–5 p.m., but is available to visitors on weekdays after 5 p.m. and on weekends.

Metered parking is available along East Dale Street and four metered spots are available in Lot W-7 (north side of the Bemis building); all other spots in the lot require a staff permit. Vehicles that park in those spots without appropriate staff permits are subject to being ticketed. 

For Monday–Saturday Classes that End Before 7:15 p.m.

For Bemis School of Art classes that end before 7:15 p.m., please park in the main Fine Arts Center parking lot at 30 West Dale Street, enter through the Fine Arts Center door to the far right (at the top of the ramp), and make your way to the studio classrooms. You can return to your car the same way you came.

For Monday–Saturday Classes that Start After 7:15 p.m. and Sunday Classes

You may park in the main Fine Arts Center parking lot, however, be aware that the Fine Arts Center building will be locked after 7:15 p.m. Instead, we recommend you find street parking closer to the entrance of Bemis School of Art at 818 Pelham Place. After 5 p.m., there is street parking available around Monument Valley Park and Mesa Road. Please be aware that parking along Cache La Poudre Street is available to visitors only on weekdays after 5 p.m. and on weekends. Metered parking is available along East Dale Street and four metered spots are available in Lot W-7 (north side of the Bemis building); all other spots in the lot require a staff permit.

If you have any safety concerns walking to or from your car, you may call Colorado College’s Safe Ride at (719) 389-6707 for a ride. While they do their best to arrive in a timely manner, this service is used by the entire CC campus, and you may experience delays during busy times. 

For Youth Classes

If you are dropping off or picking up a youth student, you may do so in the loading zone and parking lot near the entrance to Bemis at 818 Pelham Place. You may park where you can, but please stay in your car so you are available to move it if needed.

Accessibility

Accessible parking spots are available in the main FAC parking lot, as well as Lot W-7 on the north side of Bemis School of Art at 818 Pelham Place.

We are happy to accommodate students with accessibility needs. Please indicate any accessibility needs or concerns you want us to know about when you register for a class. You may also contact the front desk at (719) 634-5581 or email bemis@coloradocollege.edu prior to the first day of class. Wheelchairs are available to use free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis and are located outside the coat room in the main lobby of the Fine Arts Center.

Other Transportation Options

Biking/PikeRide
There are bike racks and a 24/7 PikeRide bikeshare hub available near the FAC main entrance at 30 W Dale Street.

Public Transit
Mountain Metro Bus Routes 8, 9, 12, and 19 stop adjacent to Colorado College within three blocks of the FAC. The ZEB Free Downtown Shuttle runs all day on Tejon Street with easy connections to parking garages, shops, and dining. The Dale Street stop is the closest to the FAC.
