Y7 Plaster Cloth Sculptures
In this inspiring art class, students will learn to sculpt human forms using plaster cloth, taking inspiration from the iconic works of artist Alberto Giacometti. Known for his elongated, textured figures, Giacometti’s sculptures evoke both movement and emotion, and students will explore these techniques while creating their own unique interpretations. Starting with simple wire armatures, they’ll build up the human form with plaster cloth, focusing on proportion and surface texture to capture the expressive qualities of Giacometti’s style. By the end of the class, each student will have a dynamic sculpture to take home, reflecting both creativity and mastery of the medium. Supplies will be provided.
