Y145 Alebrije Sculptures
In this class, we will learn about the traditional Mexican folk art of alebrijes. First created in the early twentieth century, these fantastical creatures are associated with Día de Muertos celebrations and considered to be spiritual guides. We will be designing and creating our own alebrijes out of paper mache, bringing our own imaginative creatures to life! Supplies will be provided.
Thanks to the generous sponsorship by Hulbert Center for Southwest Studies, this class is offered at a reduced price.
