MAH1 Military Artistic Healing

Thanks to grants and individual donations, Military Artistic Healing classes are offered at no charge. Registration is required. If you are interested in donating to the Bemis School of Art to support Military Artistic Healing and its arts programming, please call (719) 475-2444. Please note, these courses are only open to active-duty military, veterans, and their spouses. An active duty or retiree ID, or DD-214 must be presented to participate.

Level A – All levels welcome.

Military Artistic Healing is designed to support adult service and family members through art creation activities and the Fine Arts Center museum engagement. We aspire to provide a safe setting for each person to participate in whatever way feels comfortable. Watercolor painting techniques and mixed media interventions will be introduced to encourage practice outside of Bemis studio time. We’ll practice together to foster being with comfort, curiosity, sharing, connection, creativity, confidence, clarity, and calm. Supplies will be provided.
