Explorations in Art for Au Pairs Spring 2026

This experience is exclusively for Au Pairs. Join us through a journey of creativity and exploration.

Discover a variety of materials, techniques, and projects to include ceramics, painting, movement, gallery experiences, photography, and a few surprises. We’ll tour the galleries of the Fine Arts Center for inspiration and discussion. Some projects will be make-and-take, others will need to be picked up at a later time. Additional projects will be required before and after class in order to receive a certificate of completion for 36 hours/3 credits. All art supplies will be provided.

Do you have some black & white negatives you would like to print but don’t have your own darkroom? Have you have taken one of our great darkroom classes and have more black & white negatives you want to print? Here is your chance! We are offering several 3-hour darkroom printing periods with expert help on hand to answer questions, help you with a difficult negative, or provide guidance so you can achieve the fine art print you are working towards. Micro Torch Bezel Soldering

One day workshop into the art of creating a ring with a bezel and setting a stone! The instructor will bring all the supplies for the ring, which you will wear home that day, you just bring your creativity as well as a micro torch and some basic tools. One day class with an hour break for lunch, bring your own or head off campus. Supply list online. Ages 16-Adult

Mini Fresco Painting

Join us for this inspiring course where we’ll dive into the timeless technique of painting with tempera on a plaster surface—echoing the methods of the old masters, but adapted for a modern, small-scale format. You'll be introduced to the materials and techniques needed to create rich, vibrant artwork using joint compound, Styrofoam, and tempera paint. Each class will guide you through hands-on projects, giving you the skills to craft multiple textured and colorful pieces. Along the way, we’ll spark your imagination with creative prompts and collaborative exploration, helping you develop original works of art that are both deeply personal and lasting keepsakes. There is a $5 materials fee due to the instructor on the first day of class. Ages 16-Adult
