A62 Recreate Your Favorite Color
Level I – This class is for those with some familiarity with the medium. This could include informal use of the medium outside of the classroom.
Discover the art of dyeing cotton fabric using a dye bath. This is a technical workshop, so bring your pencil and notebook to learn the mathematical equations necessary to replicate dye bath colors accurately. Discover how to prepare a dye bath, mix stock solutions, and achieve various shades of the same color. The class is ideal for yarn dyers, including weavers, knitters, and spinners, as well as fabric users like quilters, garment makers, and surface designers who wish to create distinctive colors. We will take a quick break for lunch, so be sure to bring something to eat and drink. There is a material fee of $15 due to the instructor on the first day of class.
