A60 Introduction to Enameling on Metal
Level 0 – This class is for the true beginner with no prior experience in the medium.
Explore the ancient art of glass fused to metal! You will learn to prepare copper for enameling, apply brilliant opaque and transparent colors in the form of powdered glass using several techniques, fire your piece for a few minutes, and repeat the process multiple times. You’ll leave the class with one or more small tiles, and with an understanding of basic techniques and the many possibilities for enameling. There is a 30-minute lunch break, so please bring food and drink. There is a material fee of $20 due to the instructor on the first day of class.
