A28 Carolingian Calligraphy

Level II – This class is for those who have taken at least one class in the medium. Students should be comfortable with the basics of how to use and manipulate the medium.

Expand your calligraphic repertoire with the Carolingian style book hand. You will learn to write in this historic lower-case style, along with compatible scripts to use as initial letters, using chisel-edged pens. We will work with spacing, layout, rhythm, and simple illuminated lettering in creating finished pieces.
