Bemis School of Art

Level A – All levels welcome.

Come learn about the history of traditional Mexican ofrendas, or offerings, and create your own to celebrate Día de Muertos. These small-scale altars will be made out of found repurposed household materials and polymer clay. Students will be encouraged to bring materials from home to include in their ofrenda, such as small boxes and printed photos. In this class, students will have the opportunity to learn about this rich cultural tradition and honor their own ancestors through making art. Supplies will be provided.

Thanks to the generous sponsorship by Hulbert Center for Southwest Studies, this class is offered at a reduced price.
