Rob Watt attended Colorado College and graduated with at B.A. in Art Studio in 1978. In 1981, he went to Colorado State University and got a B.F.A. in Graphic Design. It was at CSU that he stumbled into a fibers class taught by Tom Lundberg. His enthusiasm and skill as a teacher and artist brought Rob into the world of fiber arts. He took a workshop with Lundberg and Connie Lehman in 1986 and have been doing embroidery ever since.
Rob used to paint and draw landscapes – pen and ink and watercolor – before embroidery and now thinks of his work as drawing and painting with thread. He still enjoys landscapes and a great deal of hi work is oriented in that direction.
