Karen Mosbacher

International award-winning artist Karen Mosbacher is an abstract expressionist painter, known for the synesthetic qualities in her work. When Mosbacher says, “I paint music”, she is describing her work which typically focuses on large works in oil and cold wax, acrylic, and mixed media on canvas and panel.
Ms. Mosbacher shows in 8 galleries around the world, and her most recent larger work, Enchanted Landscapes, a collaboration with Dr. Ofer Ben-Amots, Chair of the Music Department of Colorado College, is installed at Packard Hall, the recital hall.
Mosbacher has been teaching with an academic style in many levels of schools for over 25 years. She is very engaging and personalizes her classes for a diversity of students. Her in-depth teaching style is rewarding and helps elevate student artwork. Mosbacher’s mentoring style encourages students to reach for their goals, in and out of the classroom.
