Homare Ikeda is an abstract artist who works in drawing, painting, and monotype. He was born on the small subtropical island of Yoron, Japan, and later moved to the United States. He earned a B.F.A. and M.F.A. from the University of Colorado at Boulder. His works are exhibited nationally and internationally and can be seen locally at William Havu Gallery in Denver. He has participated in many artist residencies including Skowhegan, the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts, Platte Forum, Red Line, and Create Denver. He teaches at the Art Students League in Denver and leads workshops around Colorado.
