Y12 Character & Human Form

Comic books, cathedral frescos, fashion, and even vehicle design require an understanding of how to render the human form. A character’s body expresses identity through movement, posture, and interactions. Learn strategies to accurately show human proportion in art, while maintaining the fluid immediacy of gestural drawing. We’ll also study artists who’ve distorted the figure and face, such as cartoonists and animators. Build a reference model and invent a story to place your character into.
