VA6 Virtual: Ceramic Plaque Making

This virtual course focuses on plaque tile making through a series of personalized prerecorded video demonstrations, exciting Zoom presentations, and fun class interactions to celebrate the techniques of building in clay. Texturing, slip decoration, glazing techniques, and how to work from a photo reference will be covered. This process can be done by anyone anywhere, from outside in a park to the kitchen counter. This course includes live Zoom class sessions and prerecorded content. A detailed and strict drop-off for firing procedure, complete with size, weight, and amount limits will be provided by the instructor. Please see the supply list below for details on clay and glaze kit pickup information.

*Virtual Course Policy: Students registered for virtual courses are expected to conduct themselves as if participating in an on-site Bemis course. As a virtual course registrant, Bemis asks that you please be aware of your surroundings during virtual class sessions. Ensure your Zoom camera background is simple and clear of any foot traffic, including family members moving in and out of view, bright backlighting, or anything else that would be distracting to fellow students and the instructor. If need be, you can choose to turn off your camera in Zoom and turn it back on when you’re ready.
