VA13 Virtual: Belle Epoque
Repurpose a children’s board book and create an art journal inspired by La Belle Epoque, the beautiful era. Layers of gesso, acrylic paints, turn of the century ephemera, tea-stained paper, and stencils will be used to explore the patterns and nature-inspired motifs of this period. The art of Louis Tiffany and Gustav Klimt, prominent artists of this era, will also provide inspiration for creating expressive pages. This virtual course includes live Zoom class sessions and live Zoom studio hours.
*Virtual Course Policy: Students registered for virtual courses are expected to conduct themselves as if participating in an on-site Bemis course. As a virtual course registrant, Bemis asks that you please be aware of your surroundings during virtual class sessions. Ensure your Zoom camera background is simple and clear of any foot traffic, including family members moving in and out of view, bright backlighting, or anything else that would be distracting to fellow students and the instructor. If need be, you can choose to turn off your camera in Zoom and turn it back on when you’re ready.
