P3 The World in Blue

Cyanotype is a photographic printing process that produces a cyan-blue print. Engineers used the process will into the 20th century as a simple and low-cost process to produce copies of the drawings referred to as blueprints. Learn about the cyanotype process, discuss contemporary artists who work with cyanotype, and create your own cyanotypes on fabric using sunlight with photographer and exhibiting artist Shannon Johnstone. Students should bring items that range from the everyday to the extra-meaningful. All supplies are provided.
