BAA2 Drypoints on Copper

Join Colorado College professor of art, Kate Leonard to learn the beautiful printmaking technique of drypoint in this 3 day intaglio intensive.  Participants will learn the basic techniques of image translation, direct plate work, wiping, and printing.  We will create a drypoint and print a small suite of artists proofs printed on beautiful Hannemule copperplate paper. Direct study of the original drawings and drypoints of Mary Chenoweth will inspire our work and connect participants to the rich history of printmaking in the Pikes peak region. Open to all participants regardless of drawing ability – the course is particularly appropriate for printmaking enthusiasts interested in honing their skills for print identification. Please bring ideas and source imagery along with a willingness to experiment. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting inky and bring an apron or smock. All supplies will be provided.
