A87 Throwing off the Hump
Level I – This class is for those with some familiarity with the medium. This could include informal use of medium outside of the classroom.
Learn to throw multiple repeated shapes quickly; mugs, tea bowls, small plates and bowls, hollow ornaments, and spoon rests. Modify the form while still on the hump. Learn how to remove the pot from the hump and then how to trim that pot on the hump. Glazing will be taught.
