A81 Surface Design on Clay

Explore how to take pottery to the next level by focusing on surface design. Learn how to carve, etch, and stencil patterns, images, and textures onto your pottery. You’ll learn sgraffito, mishima (Japanese underglaze/ slip inlay) stamping, and monoprinting as well as water etching. This workshop is designed for students who have some experience with clay. Students are encouraged to prioritize process and risk taking. You’re encouraged to bring your own green (pre-bisque) pottery to this class to decorate.
