A80 Turning A Wooden Bowl

Learn how to turn a wooden bowl using a lathe from native Colorado wood. You’ll learn the basics of open-bowl turning, focusing on tool selection, sharpening techniques for gouges, finishing options, and safe operation of the lathe. During class, you’ll work to make bowls of maple or elm measuring 5″-6″ in diameter. Use your bowl for cereal, soup, salad, or popcorn. There is a $25 materials fee payable to the instructor on the day of class for all supplies and use of equipment.
