A79 Sculptural Teapot

Level II – This class is for those who have taken at least one class in the medium. Students should be comfortable with the basics of how to use and manipulate the medium.
Come build with clay using your hands and imagination in this fun and challenging course. We will focus on the coil-building technique as well as other handbuilding techniques to create a teapot that is not only sculptural and functional but doesn’t look like a teapot at all! While our work dries, we will spend a class at the Fine Arts Center Museum to find inspiration of functional and sculptural drinking vessels to gain a broader historical understanding of the objects we have created. All students will leave with a finished glazed work of art.
Please note: By registering for this class you are agreeing to adhere to the Fine Art Center Bemis School of Art’s publicity waiver, medical waiver, and other general policies.
