A65 Italic Calligraphy
Level A – All levels welcome.
Did you know that calligraphy means beautiful writing? In this class we will learn to write in italic calligraphy using an edged pen for both formal uses and as a basis for handwriting. Practicing calligraphy involves rhythmic writing, sense of touch, visual discernment, and contemplative awareness. An overview of writing history in the Western tradition will be given. Skills developed in this classic historic script provide a basis for further explorations in calligraphy.
