A57 Abstract Botanicals

Level II – This class is for those who have taken at least one class in the medium. Students should be comfortable with the basics of how to use and manipulate the medium.

An art journal, bound in class together, will be used to experiment with acrylic paint layering techniques, collage, organic shapes, and mark making to create abstract botanical images. Discover how the negative space can be used to create high impact paintings with bold colors. The final project will incorporate discoveries made by art journaling and your signature style, into an abstract botanical painted on white gesso board.
