A53 Introduction to Woodturning (Semiprivate)

Level 0 – This class is for the true beginner with no prior experience in the medium.

Discover your love for woodturning and learn how to create your own wooden mushroom or tree in this one-day class. Forms and designs are limitless! You will have a hands-on experience on a lathe and take home your own creation. Learn from seasoned experts about the medium, tools, techniques, and safety of this ancient craft. You will leave this class with a good foundation to build on your adventure in woodturning. This class is designed for beginners – experience working with wood is desirable but not necessary. There is a material fee of $20 due to the instructor on the first day of class.

Black & White Darkroom

Enter the darkroom to have fun with silver process black and white photography. In this class, you will learn how to develop film and create unique, handcrafted gelatin-silver prints from your negatives. And you will get to know your camera well and gain a better understanding of exposure, the qualities of light, depth of field, and composition. Here is an opportunity to hone your photographic skills as you expand your artistic vision. Ages 16-Adult
