A26 Shading 101

Level II – This class is for those who have taken at least one class in the medium. Students should be comfortable with the basics of how to use and manipulate the medium.

This class is designed to build confidence in your drawing skills, and after it, you’ll be able to go beyond the outlines! We’ll introduce drawing on toned paper, practice with various charcoal and conte’ crayons, and drawing light as well as dark. Value and shading will share equal importance to outline. We’ll develop our skills through various class exercises, including using photos as references. This class will transform your two-dimensional drawings into three-dimensional art works.
