A94 Skull Candle Holder
Level A – All levels welcome.
In this engaging and immersive class, participants will dive into the art of air-dry clay to create unique skull candle holder that honors our ancestors and loved ones. Using the versatile and user-friendly medium of air-dry clay, artist Cal Duran will guide you through the sculpting process to craft intricately detailed skull design. Throughout the class, we’ll delve into the rich cultural significance of skulls, exploring how they can serve as powerful symbols of remembrance and celebration. You’ll learn techniques for shaping and detailing your clay skull and discover how to infuse them with personal meaning and artistic flair. Once the skulls are sculpted and dried, we’ll cover finishing touches like painting and decorating, ensuring each piece is a true reflection of your individual style and intentions. These handcrafted skull candle holders will not only illuminate your ofrenda but also stand as lasting tributes to those who have passed, bridging the gap between the past and the present with both beauty and reverence. By the end of the class, you’ll have a striking, meaningful candle holder ready to light up your home altar or sacred space, embodying both artistic creativity and a heartfelt connection to those who came before. Supplies will be provided.
