A62 Enameling: Multi-Segment Pieces

Level II – This class is for those who have taken at least one class in the medium. Students should be comfortable with the basics of how to use and manipulate the medium.
Do you want to experiment with a different type of art? Do you enjoy creating cohesive and detailed pieces? A larger enameled wall piece can be made with a small kiln by designing and mounting multiple segments together. We’ll consider historical and contemporary pieces made in segments; design concept, imagery, shapes of segments (such as jigsaw vs. squares), final size, firing sequence, and other factors. The last class will include mounting and group critique. There is a material fee of $50 due to the instructor on the first day of class.
